Amazing tribute to the heroes of their past worth a visit to see how many statues there are, the only downside is that there is nothing in other languages to explain who and what they did

The scale of the square and monuments is only appreciated by going there. It is also very close to the park and other sights. The metro station is only a few stops from the city centre and the metro line stations on that line are...More

This is a beautiful square, there's no explanation there of what you're seeing but if you have a guidebook or internet access you can easily pull up the information which explains all the different statues

if you know little about hungary/austrian history , this place is just a square. but the scenery is great with the park and castle and bathhouse closeby. a little study of hustory makes it even mire worth visiting.

We stopped by here on our way to the szechenyi thermal bath which is 2 minutes walk from here. Loved the columns and the statues of the mounted soldiers. It is very well maintained.

There's plenty of parking all around the city park nearby. It used to be free but now it's paying but it's not expensive.

We've been to Budapest 3 or 4 times over the last few years and as recently as last September and went to Heroes Square each time. We never saw anything that looked like a "big wooden statue". I don't think we would have... More
