- Jenny LWorcestershire, United Kingdom13 contributionsOk on a Rainy AfternoonThe museum is quite small so unless you stop to read everything you can be round it in half an hour. They do show a film about neon signs around Warsaw which is quite interesting, if rather long. It was interesting though, as I've never given neon signs a second thought! You can only take photos with a phone, you can't use a camera.Visited October 2020Traveled as a coupleWritten 19 October 2020
- Neatham641 contributionsMore than just neon signsThere are many interesting boards to read about the history of neon signs and their importance to Warsaw. Apart from admiring the art and technology, you can watch a very interesting film about neon signs in Warsaw. We spent an hour very happily here and it's not expensive to visit.Visited February 2020Written 15 February 2020
- Lizara K195 contributionsInterestingThis is a small, unusual museum. I appreciated the information in both Polish and English about each sign, although it wasn't always placed in the most obvious position, and the accompanying pictures of the signs where they used to be. There are a few paragraphs about the history of neon signs in Poland, and these were quite adequate to give the necessary context. I did feel that the museum would really benefit from an expansion as the collection is a bit chaotic at the moment and seemingly placed however the signs would fit, with a few signs visible sitting in corners but not displayed. It's also in a very inconvenient location. I felt it was worth the trip out anyway, but it may not be worth it to someone less interested in the subject. Finally, their rule about not allowing DSLR photos is just bizarre when many modern phones can take better pictures than older DSLRs. At least you can take photos with your phone without any difficulty.Visited February 2020Written 1 February 2020

This place is a gem. The founders/directors are on site and will talk passionately and knowledgably about the history of neon signs, and why restoring and preserving them is important, especially in Poland, especially during the Communist regime.

Located in the Praga neighborhood, this small museum offers a glimpse of history and to me felt like a wonderful art exhibit

Very unique museum for rescued old neons explaining their history and also their role in Polish history. Museum is not very big but covers the subject very well. Not safe for lively small kids. The neons are not to be touched! They are fragile and some had dire warnings one to get electrocuted if touched. For adults and teens this is great! The location is a bit shady. But that increased the experience.

This is a small place which is hard to find beacuse the location is hidden. Only the second time it worked. Inside there are noeons from whole Warsaw where history is written. The ticket price is not excessive but you can not see there a lot. Nice and cosy place, that's all.

Loved this museum. It's not so big, and it wasn't so crowded, so I had a great time here. It's so cool with all the neon signs, and it gives great pictures for your instagram stories. Im glad I went here.

Different type of museum but not in an easy location to walk to (as we did). It was surrounded by works on the day we went so difficult to find. Inside felt rather second rate as if some neon lights (not all of which work but some are simply broken) had just been put into a warehouse. Did give an interesting history on the discovery of neon though.

A very original museum which is great fun for taking photographs and learning more about the signs. It’s really small. It would be nice if someone was available to provide more info (maybe this is something that is offered, but not at the time we were there). The girl at the reception was a bit rude.

I’d seen The Neon Muzeum on a list of ‘must-see’ things in Warsaw, and was determined to pay a visit when we went to Poland recently. It’s situated a short tram ride from the city centre, and relatively easy to find. It’s a small museum, but beautifully laid out in a warehouse-type building, showing off the exhibits in the most visually pleasing way possible. The neon signs are mainly from Communist-era Warsaw, and are endlessly photogenic. The exhibits all have notes explaining what they were advertising or promoting, where they were sited, and photographs showing them in their original setting. There is also a TV documentary programme running on a loop, with the history of the neon signage, which sounds dry, but is absolutely fascinating.
We spent about 90 minutes or so at the museum, and that included viewing the TV film. I took loads of photographs of the beautiful signs, the museum asks you to use the camera on your ‘phone, and not to use proper cameras, but the neons are so photogenic that smartphone pics look fabulous.
There is a small museum shop, with some lovely neon-themed merchandise, where you can pick up a souvenir. When we’d finished at the museum, we took a tram back into central Warsaw via Praga. We really enjoyed our visit to the Neon Muzeum, and would recommend it if you have any interest in design, architecture, or pre and post-war Polish history.

The neon signs and their history were fascinating and it’s great to see this more recent part of history preserved. The only negative is that the museum is very small. Perhaps some thought should be given to extending the exhibitions.
