the market was big, a huge selection of vegetables and fruits, bakeries, butchers, a large selection of cheeses. There is also a large selection of clothes, honey products, candles... we found everything we needed.

Stumbled across this by accident, but a great find. A traditional local market, selling a huge variety of goods. Fresh produce, household goods and clothing. lots of food stalls/cafes. A must to visit in my mind.

This is a great place to shop like locals. Stary Kleparz is a compact farmer market that serves everything from fresh produce to meat and seafood. Fun to explore with cheap goods.

it's one of those places that is close to the city center but in a way it's hidden and not that many tourists visit it, one of those places that is for the "locals".
It used to be the main place where you can buy fresh fruits, vegetables, cheese, ham, so all you need to eat and other things. It;s the place where you do shopping in the "old fashion" way on a market, I wrote used to be as there were not that many shops in the area in the past - now you can also buy in a supermarket kind of stores in the area, but Stary Kleparz - it means in translation "old market" has this something allows you feel like walking among locals - I love the place.... if you have time go to Nowy Kleparz - which is in a direct translation "new market" which in fact is old but newer than the old market ;)

Just North through the Old Town gates (Barbican),pass the Grunwaldzki monument and turn first right (5min from the Old Town Square) lies a very different world from the touristy Krakow. In the Old Market local farmers and producers sell their wears. Mostly it sells household goods (enamel cooking pots -lovely colours and cheap, meat, fruit and veg, slippers, flowers etc).
What I found at the end of this market was priceless - beautiful hand crafted table clothes. These were identical to the ones found in the Sukiennice but at the fraction of the price, about 35-60 zł only! Instead of 250-300 zł.
They also have a great selection of net curtains at rock bottom prices and great quality. So, if you know your window measurements go and buy and save hundreds of £££. Just be prepared for not such luxurious surroundings.
From here you can stop off for polish pierogi in in quiet local place (tasty and cheap) or head straight for the Galeria Krokowska - huge and modern shopping centre.

This market is functioning for several hundreds of years. It is very colorful and you can buy there fresh vegetables and fruits, cheese and other dairy and meat products. You can buy there a whole meal and eat here there. The market is clean and pleasant to visit' it is also very close to the city main square. Recommended

If you like markets or if you just like to get off the beaten path a little and see a real slice of local life, make sure to add a visit here to your itinerary. I came in the morning, around 9:30, and it was busy with locals buying produce, bread and cheese from area farmers. You'll get to see what's in season, sample some traditional farm cheeses, and see local people. This is not a tourist market, so be respectful of people trying to get business done and try not to be too much in the way or in their face with photos. Enjoy the market and enjoy escaping the tourist hordes around the Cloth Hall!
