About
Two exhibitions in one location. The first is a journey in the dark in which because of the complete darkness you will feel like a blind person. This metamorphosis has several advantages – first of all you realize that in such a world a blind person feels like a fish in the water. And you? At the beginning you are afraid, then you tame, and finally you realize what power your other senses have. Then you realize that blind people are not disabled at all, it’s just naive to think that you who see are better. The second is a maze of colors, games of lights and fun. How to build a lake of sand or a mountain, or maybe create a tsunami? How to leave the shadow behind? As if with ordinary glasses it would seem to turn the world upside down, and maybe check what the shadow of the strange sculpture hides or turn the sound into shape and color. Both experiences include our fantastic guides, who bring science and emotion into your world in a joyful and colorful way.

Light and Dark: time it right!
What wasn’t clear from the website was that the tours in English run every other hour. We arrived just before 3pm. The “into the light” was at 3pm and the 3.20pm “into the dark” was fully booked. The next showing of “into the dark” was 5.20pm. We went to the “into the light” to kill the time. But we’d still have had almost an hour wait after it finished before “into the dark”. They only have a small waiting area without much to look at. The journey into the light was aimed at young children and was delivered by a tour guide with minimal enthusiasm or knowledge to a group of 6 adults. We left early when we were given “free play” time in the sand pit. One of the most bizarre and worthless experiences of my life. In contrast the “into the dark” tour was thought provoking, intimate and worthwhile. The tour guide Pawal was insightful and helpful. The way it was set up was ingenious. Even the way the other members of the tour reacted added depth and interest. We even all left with brail souvenirs. I would highly recommend the “into the dark” tour but do not bother with “into the light” unless you are a child under 10. The into the dark tour took 50 minutes and they had lockers so if you plan in advance you can book it in before/after a train to the airport.
Dear guests, Thank you very much for visiting and sharing your impressions. We are sorry that we did not meet your expectations 100%, but we are proud that you liked the exhibition into the darkness so much. We hope that you will remember this experience for a long time. We promise to keep working and improving ourselves and our exhibitions so that we can only positively surprise you in the future. Regards WOMAI Team

    Must see!
The museum is interactive, combining the elements of science and sensory experience. Our guide, Karina, was very kind and professional. My son has autism and usually he wouldn’t last through any guided tour, but this time we didn’t take a break a single time.
Dear Guest, thank you very much for visiting us. We are delighted that the tour was a pleasure for all participants. We are glad to hear that our guide and exhibition met your expectations and that you enjoyed your time with us. We also really appreciate you taking the time to write a review. Thank you once more. Was amazed by the into the dark experience. Really gave you a small insight into the blind world… very humbling! Pawel Krol our blind guide was extremely helpful, interesting and funny. Would definitely recommend.

    My experience in Womai
It was my first time in Womai and I was wonderfully surprised! My guide was Paweł Król who introduced me to unique world of blind people. It was one hour of exciting and challenging tasks and experiences. Paweł was very gentle, kind, very focused and at the same time very humorous. I am very glad that I mustered up the courage to try this.
Dear Guest, thank you very much for your kind words about the exhibition and the guide! We really appreciate you taking the time to visit us and write the review, we are glad to know you enjoyed your time with us. You are welcome to come again :) Best regards WOMAI Team

    Amazing experience
I was at womai for into the darkness exhibit/experience with my family. The guide was an amazing man who answered all of our questions and showed us the world without light. I highly recommend this for anyone, even if you're not "an art" person. We were amazed and thought about it for days after.
Dear Katarzyna, thank you for your opinion. We are very happy to hear that you have found answers to your questions and that you now know the needs of blind people better. We hope you will remember this experience for a long time. We hope to see you again in the future Regards WOMAI Team

    Great for all the family
I visited in December with my mum and 1 year old daughter looking for a way to get out of the snow for a few hours and not knowing what to expect. The venue is down a long flight of stairs, but staff met us at the entrance and helped carry the stroller down into the safety and warm. We had no expectations of the venue before we attended and had just searched for somewhere sensory that might interest a 1 year old. Staff were interesting and knowledgable and we all loved the hands on aspect of the museum. My mum and I both said that we might have been more interested in science growing up if we had visited somewhere like this! Staff were very kind and accommodating to my daughter, and she loved playing with the lights and in the sand pit. We all had a really good afternoon and are so glad we stopped here on a whim! Can recommend for anyone travelling with young children
Dear Rose, We would like to thank you very much for your visit to WOMAI Into the Light, your wonderful review and fun you had. We are superb happy that our team was friendly, informative and made you excited about science. We hope your next visit is just around the corner. Best regards, WOMAI TEAM

"See" with the "eyes" of blind people
We visited the museum after reading good reviews at the trip advisor. On the last day of our visit to Kraków I took tickets for all the family in English. The museum is very easy to find opposite the Galleria mall. We chose the "in to the darkness." Our guide was Pawel, who is blind. He was the best to help us experience "his word into the darkness." My kids loved the experience, and we all put ourselves in the "world" of blind people. Panel, thanks for your patience in answering our questions. We wish you all the best and keep traveling❤️.
Dear Guest, thank you for your beautiful opinion and appreciation of the exhibition Into the Dark. We will pass on your words to your guide Pawel. We look forward to seeing you again. Best Regards WOMAI Team

    Unforgettable experience!
On January 5, I went to the "Towards Darkness" exhibition. It was an amazing and enchanting experience. My guide was Konrad. He was very funny and friendly. Maintaining a very nice and cheerful aura, he made the entire event unforgettable. The atmosphere during the exhibition was very relaxed and I didn't feel uncomfortable even for a moment (even deprived of such an important sense as sight!). I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great experience. I will definitely come back to see other exhibitions!
Dear Guest, we are very thankful for your insightful review of the exhibition! Words like those truly motivate us :) We are incredibly happy that you found the whole experience so interesting and memorable. Of course - we encourage you to visit our other exhibition as well! I had another vision of the exhibition when I bought tickets, but this was an eye-opening experience for me, and “into the darkness” exceeded my expectations! I found out more about life of the blind person, and that had a great impact and changed my vision of the world, and made me more tolerant towards other people.
I would definitely recommend visiting this place.

Special thanks to our guide Kamil, he was so nice and explained everything during the exhibition, and also answered all of our questions

We (three generations, grandma with 2 daughters and 9 year old grandchild) went to Womai yesterday (Sun, 5th Feb 2023) for "Into the darkness" exhibition. Shy of one hour in a complete darkness with our guide Pawel was an incredible experience and an eye opener of how to see the world in a completely new way. I think the experience not only give us a bit more knowledge of how world of a blind person looks like, but in a way teaches us how to "see" more by allowing / sharpening other senses like touch or hearing.

There are two parts to this experience. The first is entering the world of the blind. It is very interesting to explore in complete darkness. The second part is a study of light and sound. This has a number of interesting exhibits that are both entertaining and educational.

Dear Valued Guests, We are so happy that you and your son have decided to visit WOMAI's both exhibitions: "Into the dark" and "Into the light". We are even more happy that we satisfied your appetites for knowledge from the area of physics (light and sound) but also from the area of the world of people who were born into the darkness. We hope to see you again as being your guide on both ends was a pure pleasure. Kind regards, WOMAI TEAM

WOW….what a fantastic experience & I strongly recommend that you try this when in Krakow. I generally do not write a lot of reviews but I feel that I have to do it on this occasion. I was wary of what to expect when booking this experience as it’s not what we normally book but after being to Krakow on a few occasions & doing all the usual tours my wife & I decided on Into the Darkness & please excuse me as I cannot remember our lady tour guides name, but what an insight she gave us into the world of a blind person as she is blind also. I don’t want to spoil it for you but nothing can be taken into this tour which can show light I.e. phone, watch etc (lockers provided on site to store these) as you are in complete darkness & you navigate through different rooms, & stop to identify everyday sounds, objects, textures & interact with your guide & others within the small group (only 4 people in total on our tour). You may need guided at times but this was done in a safe environment from our guide (no fear of falling or bumping into sharp objects etc) & when near the end our guide (wish I could remember her name) gave us the chance when still in total darkness to sit & ask her any questions about being blind & afterwards when the tour was finished I asked my wife why she did not ask anything & she replied that she couldn’t as the tears were streaming down her face as she found it so emotional as my wife & myself were totally ignorant to how losing your eyesight enhances your other senses & how you still can manage everyday life scenarios. My wife & I both agreed that this is one of the best experiences that we have ever enjoyed on any holiday & so glad that we booked this. Thank you so much for such an excellent experience which has raised our awareness & gave us a better understanding which we will both remember for the rest of our life's.

Dear Guest, thank you so much for your description of the exhibition "into the dark" and such a comprehensive and heartfelt review. Your words grabbed us by the heart! We are extremely pleased that you visited our Center. The exhibition was created to teach and let you experience a different perspective, and stories like yours always motivate us to continue our work! We believe that your guide's name was Sylwia. We will share your words with her, as this is an opinion she especially needs to hear. We hope you will visit us again someday! Best Regards WOMAI Team

We went to “into the dark” and it was very insightful experience. An experience where you get to know what it’s like to be a blind person which is led by a blind person and they love their day to day life.
Our experience was led by Paweł who really opened our eyes into the world of blindness and our senses when you can’t rely on your eyes. With even parts surrounding topics on how to better help people around who happen to be blind or visually impaired . I say Paweł was the highlight of the experience because of his passion surrounding these topics with intelligence and how compassionate he is to everyone around him and everyone in the experience.
The experience is very one of a kind and it really sticks with you especially when you have a good guide. If you want to do something in Krakow we would definitely recommend Womai because it changes how you view the world around you.

The English into the dark experience was amazing. Our guide was very polite and passionate about the world of blind people. He instantly invoked confidence and trust in the group (not only by the fact that he memorized all our names in 2 minutes).
His English was really good, eventhough he lacked a bit of confidence in his own langauge abilities

We visited Womai and booked the ‘Into the Darkness exhibition’.

It was honestly one of the most thought provoking & insightful experiences that I have ever been on.

The tour guide, Pawel was extremely knowledgeable & passionate about delivering the experience. He gave us a full understanding of the difficulties that a blind person may experience on a day to day basis. Pawel is multilingual and can offer tours in multiple languages, including English.

I would throughly recommend visiting.

I went there with my friend, and it turned out to be one of the best experiences we had in Krakow so far. It was a thought-provoking visit, and I would definitely recommend everyone go and see this exhibition. The guide, Pawel, was very nice, and the atmosphere was really friendly. It was hard at first for me to adjust to the darkness, but closing my eyes helped a lot. At the end of our visit, the receptionist, Julian, helped us find a way to the National Museum, gave us other recommendations for what to see in Krakow, and told us about the other exhibition, which we will definitely see next time around! 10/10

Thank you for this wonderful place where we can enter the world of blind people and show children that disabled people are the same as able-bodied people. A very well-thought-out and organized place, with a very positive guide, Mr. Szymon W. I wholeheartedly recommend this guide, also for the youngest children, my daughter (5 years old) did not want to leave the exhibition.
We adults also had a lot of fun at the exhibition.
I wish there were more places like this.
We would like to thank Mr. Szymon once again for this amazing adventure.
