A slightly unusual place for me to visit, but well worth the effort, in my view. The top floor exhibit on the development of Katowice was my favourite, although the floor with the rooms of the rich and the middle class weren't too bad either....More

Fascinating modern exhibition presenting a timeline from the creation of Katowice, its development until when it became a city. 100% in English too (why not in Silesian though?). The part presenting more modern times is scheduled to be opened in September '18, so 5/5 awaits...More

The exhibition starts with a didactically excellent showcased floor about the history of Katowice in four rooms. This is followed by an exhibition about restaurational work which was in my case presented by an enchanting guide/restaurationist historian with encredible detail and verve. The connection to...More

The museum consists of some temporary art exhibition - in our case this was a very interesting yet disturbing collection of posters from a local art professor. The history floor is totally new with interesting visual effects, presentations, games and all the bells and whistles,...More

Small, very interesting museum which has examples of rooms from two typical Silesian apartments, one of a mining engineer/supervisor and the other more typical of someone wealthier. Beautiful wood furniture and an amazing ceramic fireplace are on display. Find the creepy, cool embroidered pillow on...More
