Sad to hear what happened here. Went as part of the free walking tour which I say is an absolute must do when in this beautiful city. You will learn about their modern struggle for freedom.

It was both interesting and sad to hear the tales of communist occupation through our guide (and her childhood), as well as the 1970’s bloody uprisings that eventually led to Freedom and this monument in present day. We drove by without stopping, but still impactful.

The sobering story of Solidarity comes to a moving memorial for those who lost their lives. This was the first monument allowed by the Communists and remembers those who gave their lives.

Very touching monument outside the shipyard gate memorializing lost lives of thr early solidarity movement. This is extremely important, as it is unusual that the Soviet regime allow it to be erected while Poland was under soviet domination
