The lookout tower was built for the General Land Centennial Exhibition in 1891 by the initiative of the founders of Czech Tourist Club: Dr. Vilem Kurz and architect Vratislav Pasovsky. Having been inspired by the Paris lookout tower designed by...more

The weather in Prague has been unlikely warm this October, therefore I decided to visit the top of Petrin tower finally, after living in Prague for 14 yrs.... anyway as my baby boy was not in a good mood we went by furnicular to the...More
If you want to get the most "extreme" experience while visiting the Petrin tower, buy a ticket for the steps (150CZK) rather than for the lift (210CZK). Climbing the tower is a fascinating adventure especially during windy days, when the tower swings (don't worry, its...More
We followed a meandered steep slope, climbed a rough forest to arrive this tower. It's nothing like the original Eiffel tower in Paris. One leg of the original one is bigger than the whole tower here in Prague. We thought it's not worth it, either...More
Breath taking by all means since you have to climb more than 500 stairs, but the look from the tower worth it. From the balcony you can see better because the upper floor is closed and you can take a look only from the windows.
This is one of the main attractions that I visited in Petrin Hill. Entrance fees ranged between 120-150 korunas or about $5.45 - $6.82 per person. To use the elevator, there is an additional fee of 60 korunas or about $2.73.
Due to its location...More
My wife and I have been to the top of the Eiffel tower so thought it might be fun to visit this "replica". You can either pay 150 Czech crowns to climb the stairs or 210 crowns to take the lift to the top and...More
Our driver on arrival at the hotel said this was Prague's Eiffel Tower, and it is similar.
We got a joint ticket for this venue and the Mirror Maze beside it. For the 2 of us it was 420 Koruna ( roughly £14)
There was a long queue for the small lift so I opted for the stairs only ticket and started out on the climb. Have to say it was far easier than I had feared it would be, especially with a stop about 1/3rd distance to...More
We walked up Petrin Hill coming from Strahov Monastery, and the walk was pretty lean and relaxing and i think it took about 10 minutes. The Petrin Tower is a must, as it gives you a wonderful 360 degree perspective on the city of Prague....More
With the Prague Card, the "walk up" is included. However, for a little bit more, we paid for its elevator (lift) up to the top and back down. Views from the top were fabulous. Other guests were all friendly and taking photos for others.

This attraction is an absolute must teenagers, especially the narrow stairs, walking up and down is good fun. Please buy tickets in advance (mass tourism everywhere) in order to avoid the crowds in the afternoon. July may be hot, consider going there in the morning. Afterwards take a walk through the nice park to Strahov monastery. You will be then behind the Prague castle and can start another lovely walk there.
