Prague Zoological Garden is situated near the center of the Czech capital, in a unique rugged landscape on the bank of the Vltava River. It opened in 1931 and during its existence of more than 80 years it has risen to become one of the most prestigious zoos in the world. Today, it is the second most visited tourist destination in the Czech Republic, just after Prague Castle. 4,600 animals and 680 species live in Prague Zoo. You can explore 12 pavilions and 150 exhibits over 58 hectares. The kids will love the Bororo Reserve, chairlift, mini-train, observation tower, paddling pool and Children’s Zoo. The pride of the zoo is its Elephant Valley, home to a sizeable herd of Asian elephants. The Giant Salamander House, where you can see the largest amphibians in the world – the critically endangered Chinese Giant Salamanders – is extraordinary as well; and the African House with an adjacent vast meadow inhabited by herds of antelopes and giraffes is worth your attention, too.

We loved the zoo, had such a great day. Entrance price is so cheap, worked out around £7 each. The zoo is huge, so many animals to see. I would definitely recommend buying the map as you walk in, think they are only around 15p!...More

Massive zoo. Too big to see it all in one day. So much to keep both adults and children entertained.

This zoo is massive and offers plenty to see. As per usual with zoos, it's mostly geared towards children, but there's plenty of things to see for adults as well. Lots of animals I had not previously seen in other zoos and overall the enclosures...More

Hi, we saw many primates, but unsure if any gibbons. But with the vast size of the zoo I would have thought it is a good possibility.
