You have to visit this place when you have the chance. It’s lovely experience, you can walk through the whole house by yourself just with an audio guide. We paid a little extra money and enjoyed being actually photographed in the historic atelier and in the costumes. Definitely recommend that too. Big thank you to the people there, especially the young guy at the counter. He was really sweet and professional!

It does not matter if you are a fan of photography or not. This museum was a very nice way to learn about the culture, development and history of Cesky Krumlov from the perspective of a family devoted to photography. Recommended

The movie is quite interesting and if you are a photographer, or just interested in the history of photography, you will love it. However, we expected to see more photographs of the town.

We had a lot of fun in this amazing photo studio getting our family pictures done in a unique way. The period costumes were provided by the talented staff, picked and chosen with an experienced eye for detail and overall color harmony and we had a choice of a wide variety of period appropriate accessories as well. We were not rushed, plenty of time was allowed for preparation, arrangement of different groupings, and for disrobing. We were allowed to browse through the entire house including the attic and enjoy the museum like surroundings. Toilets are located outside in the garden, and the garden itself provides a beautiful backdrop for additional photos. There is a coffee shop next-door that sells refreshments and delicious cakes. The photos were delivered electronically within two weeks and were amazing!

The exhibition itself is very well designed with correct amount of information splited across the house rooms.

A suggestion: in the first two rooms maybe subnumbers can be assigned to the objects so the photography lames can understand the tools mentioned in the audio guide.

In an area where history goes a way back ,it’s nice to have a look at a families history.
Being interested in photography helps but is not necessary to enjoy wandering through this photographers studio.

I did the audio guide tour in English, with 13 stops, taking 1 hour.

The tour explains the life and work of the Seidel family of photographers, with lots of examples of their work, original equipment and explanations of how photography was done 100 years ago, plus a studio that can be still be used today for photoshoots. It is all very well setup, easy to understand and lots of photos and postcards -- if you know the region a little bit some of the places in the photos are recognisable.

The house itself is beautifully decorated too.

Other tourist attractions in Cesky Krumlov were very busy but this museum was quiet.

Far away from the hoards of tourists yet still in the lovely city center lies a very unique photograph studio museum. With audio guide was great and the home/studio was super cute and restored. You can even get pictures taken in the old styles in the studios, I think you just have to call ahead to reserve. Highly recommended!
