I went for a walk up to the Obelisk to see what the views from there were like. The views are 360 degrees over Newcastle. Would be great for both sunrise and sunset photography. There are a few picnic tables and an interesting directional marker...More

Wonderful views of the city and surrounding areas. Great walk to get here (as some steep terrain ) but well worth it and always remember that it is all downhill on way back !

It is not the obelisk but the location that is great. It is worth the walk. Walk up through King Edward Park, the only thing missing is an ice cream shop.
