Pine Grove is a beautiful beach and a great place to go to watch the surfers. Picturesque with beautiful vistas.

We had a day with no plans on our recent trip to Puerto Rico, so we decided to spend it at Isla Verde Beach. It was perfection! Such a nice beach to relax on. The water wasn't dangerous. Get there early to get an umbrella and beach chair.

Hector was an amazing guide. He took us on a wonderful excursion of a coral reef that was easily reached from the beach. After seeing a ton of wildlife on the reef, he allowed us to use his equipment to try to see sea turtles in another area. Highly recommended!

We’ve stayed in Isla Verde many times at
ESJ and have only walked this beach a few times. I never knew it had a name! Well in Jan 2018 we walked it every day. It’s very beautiful and tranquil and you can walk for a long way. Not many people. The beach club just past the hotels wasn’t open but I expect that was due to clean up after the hurricanes. Love it here and highly recommend it. We found most of these shells here over the two weeks we were there.

Very nice beach soft sand blue water which is pretty clear depending on how much wave action. Since the bottom is such soft sand not as clear as rockier bottom so it’s a trade off. For swimming very enjoyable, safe, clean, friendly people. Can rent chairs and umbrella. $10. For umbrella $5 for chairs.

What a professional and fun man! He teaches surfing and gives snorkeling and paddle boat tours. He offered coconut milk and fried crab. He grew up here and obviously loves Puerto Rico.

Hi there,
My wife and I are heading on a cruise in 2 weeks for 7 nights then spend 4 nights in PR after this. We have planned to go to Veiques or one night and were thinking of heading to El Yunque National Forest for a day trip. We had considered then staying at Isla Verde/Pine Grove for are final day to do a bit of surfing (we are beginners) but we have a few questions.
1. Is being near to the airport noisy
2. Is this a good beach for surf
3. If not or very noisy were would you recommend instead that is close to San Juan.
Thanks in advance and a Happy New Year to you all.

Hi - My family will be visiting San Juan on a cruise at the end of March and I wanted to see how far the beach is from the port and if we need tickets for this beach and are there chair rentals?
Thanks!

It is about a 15-20 minute cab ride

Does anyone know what a typical cab ride cost from Old San Juan to this beach? We are staying in Old San Juan for a week but will definitely want to visit the beach at least a couple days. I know there are several beaches: Condado, Ocean Park, etc. We are trying to anticipate the costs for cabbing to each beach - it might help us determine which beach to visit as there are many options! Any information would be helpful!

Cost us $20/ 4 people. You can make arrangements with the cab driver to pick you up and drive you back to old San Juan

Coming down to Isle Verde with 7 adults the first week in Feb.We will arrive Jan 31 and depart Feb. 7. My wife and three sons with two of my sons girl friends. My oldest son and I are serious fisherman others are novices. What species are good in early Feb? and can you accommodate a total of 7 people with more than one boat or whatever?

Not sure of the type of fish. The boats used for fishing usually take out of either San Juan harbor, Ponce or Mayaguez. Both Ponce and Mayaguez are a distance. Most of the boats used for fishing will be large enough for your group. It always works out that several of the group stay inside and are sick. You can check on the web for charters out of San Juan.
