Panampangan is one paradise hidden in Tawi-Tawi's labyrinthine set of islands. Although it's roughly 40 km from mainland Bongao, going there can be a challenge as boat rentals can run to a few thousands. Check out the Provincial Tourism Office first because they might refer some boatmen who can take you there for a lower rate, or if you get lucky, for free. This almost untouched, 3 kilometer sand bar is said to be 1-2 feet below sea level, thus, it's possible to cross to the other end by low tide. Expect your feet to sink at each step as the sand on this idyllic isle can be likened to powdered milk. Yes, it is that fine, white and soft. And while you're there, enjoy frolicking in its crystal clear waters.

This is a great place and the best white beach I have ever went to. We went via a speed boat for 4 hours. The island we passed by are awesome. Upon arriving the beach I was amazed by it beauty. It was still nature at its pristine nature. The white beach was perfect. And the great amongst all is the 3.8 sand bar which they say the longest in the Philippines. There not much of the amenities but it was a jaw dropping experience and a much to visit

Maybe far for some but definitey worth to travel. more than 1 hr ride from Bongao, Tawi Tawi is an amazing place with powdery sand and turquoise water. To top it all and amazing almost 1k stretch of a sandbar. Love this place for swimming or picnic with family and friends. in my books, it's better than Boracay, Caramoan and Cresta De Gallo. Maybe a reminder to the government to maybe look into what can be done so the island can be maintained. Saw a lot of garbages in the cottage areas.

Panampangan Island is one of the best spots in the Philippines I have been to. During low tide, it features the largest sandbar in the Philippines, if not in the entire world. When I went there a few days ago, it was low tide in mid-day and the sky was so clear that the amazing photos I have taken appear to have been taken in the desert located on a landmass somewhere in another part of the world. It is a must-see spot in the Philippine Archipelago, specifically in the Sulu Archipelago.
Panampangan Island is just one of the many beautiful spots one can explore in Tawi-Tawi.
Magsukul makagagahom for this supernatural creation!
