As a frequent Noosa visitor, I would advise booking accomodation close to Hastings Street, park the car at your hotel and walk everywhere. Parking is a nightmare.
This wonderfully wide and attractive beach attracts masses of visitors, though constant high winds might deter some visitors. However, it is a surfers' paradise, and there are lifeguards present at strategic intervals. Near to good shops and restaurants.
