Incorporating the ANZAC Centre, the whole place is a mix of old and new - It's amazing what we "locals" (OK, Perth, but I've been to Albany before) don't know about our history.

The Princess Royal Fortress features a number of buildings and collections regarding the history of the site as the first coastal defence of Australia and it's incarnations since. Additionally, hosting travelling and special exhibitions, the curator does an incredible job, together with a few of...More

The Anzac centre is a wonderful place for history - spend the whole day if you can. You can take a break and walk around the extensive site and have a coffee and lunch at the Garrison.

Job well done by all those involved in ensuring that a little bit of the history of the past is recorded for generations to come. We enjoyed walking around and viewing the information and displays, such a treasure really.

We’ve visited the Forts a few times now with the kids and everyone really enjoys the visit. The history plaques around the area give a little glimpse of what it would have been like. Some of the large guns can be moved and the kids...More
