The gardens at Benalla are pleasant all year round, but exceptionally beautiful in November/December when all the roses are in bloom and perfume fills the air. Also of interest is the statue of Weary Dunlop and another war hero (whose name escapes me) both originally...More

A pleasant place to while away half an hour en route to Sydney from Melbourne. You can enjoy a drink or snack at the adjacent art gallery.

Beautifully maintained gardens and park. We were lucky enough to visit for the festival and enjoyed the market stalls spread throughout the gardens. What a beautiful setting. The art gallery is also beautiful and all set right by the water.

The rose gardens are the highlight of Benalla's Botanic Gardens, with good signage for rose buffs. Also recommended is the Weary Dunlop memorial statue. What an inspirational medico Benalla can count among its past residents!

A fine example of country botanic gardens. The rose gardens are extensive and renowned. Many of the trees are magnificent specimens. The lake adjoining the gardens adds to the atmosphere. There is an excellent children's playground.

Gardens are relaxing and offer plenty ofvrelaxation or things to do for the more adventurous! Lovely rose gardens and war memorial statues and plaques in memory of Weary Dunlop and war memorials generally. Very relaxing to sit by the lake.

Cut through here on our walk into town, and what a treat it was. Situated along a pretty river, lush and green and cool, wasn't expecting this in a little country town.
