The museum has an outstanding range of wood artefacts and lots of interesting information. There also many artefacts which related to woodworking/forestry such as vehicles, axes, chainsaws and objects from the resident blacksmith.

We used this as a breakout on a long drive for the kids and are certainly glad we did. Nicely setup and great exhibits as you guide yourself through. They do have demonstrations (which we didnt see), which would be worthwhile seeing, so probably check...More

Gympie was not our destination this time; it was just a stopover. However, we came upon this place and we loved it. Unfortunately, the mill was not running, but it was still well worth the visit.

Very interesting place to visit . Displays were good , but would have liked to see a bit more in the wood working area.

This was a very enjoyable break on the journey from Hervey Bay back to Brisbane. Well worth a visit as the display is very interesting and the volunteer attendant most helpful. Pity the sawmill wasn't operating but is was mid week and still fascinating to...More

We were very impressed with this delightful Museum and Interpretive Centre. The grounds were immaculate and the information we were given by the volunteers was so very interesting......these guys are really on the ball. Worth a visit when in Gympie Qld.
