Nice walk in a gully that is a micro ecosystem.
Plenty of stairs and 3 spots to sit or have a coffee/picnic.
The Clovelly Rd end is higher and Alison Rd end lower, a few hills in this area.
The ends of walk is wheelchair accessible but the walk itself is not wheelchair friendly.
Most stairs have non slip strips added so quite safe to use during wet, winter or rain.
A few plaques that provide a variety of information - history, ecological etc
Plenty of nearby cafe, pubs and eateries.
Fred Hollows lived and worked around this area so there are other related places nearby if you wanted to research him/his life.

A relaxing easy boardwalk where you can escape the hassle of city life and high-rise for a few minutes.

Despite torrential rain, we were determined to visit this little nature reserve and weren't disappointed. It was so much fun to be in a little rainforest in the rain, nek minnit, surrounded by urban sprawl. I marvelled at the overflowing waterfalls and webs of spiders that persisted through the downpour.

I went in from the north from Bligh Place and maybe the locals don't like people there because the entry to the path was blocked by household goods being thrown out, but I went around them and walked down the wooden steps through the gully. It's mostly downhill from the north as it follows the gully and creek. Despite apartments towering over the sides, it's still a heavily forested and very peaceful place, with a few seats to sit down and enjoy the birdlife. Some parts of the path are not maintained well, nor are the information panels, so don't expect much except a peaceful walk.

The walk through Fred Hollows Reserve is a quiet retreat and a 10 minute walk along a new boardwalk. There are a number of steps so this is not a walk for those with difficulties accessing stairs. It is quiet and intriguing to be in the hollow between houses and yet feel far from noise and bustle of suburbia. You won't see a lot of wildlife but trees offer shade and tranquility. It is secluded so think about walking with a friend.

I go there a few times a year and enjoy seeing the tall rainforest trees and the number of animals there. You start at Alison Rd and you climb many steps as you go and you end up at Bligh Pl. It is a very short walk (approx 500-800m) and it will feel like you are exploring a real rainforest.

Duck off from Alison Road onto the boardwalk and find yourself in a green sanctuary full of tall trees, trailing vines, croaking frogs, lizards, birds and insects and beautiful tranquility. It does have rather a lot of mosquitoes so beware. It's about a 15 minute walk along the boardwalk, including stairs and you can do a return trip or finish up on the Clovelly Road side.

Stumbled upon this walk on our way back from Coogee Beach to our accommodation in Randwick. Really lovely walk, nice to get off the street and into a little slice of paradise! Some parts have quite a lot of steep stairs so you wouldn't want to take a stroller, I was 8 months pregnant at the time, and managed it ok however! Really pleased we stumbled accross this!!

A very nice board-walk, quiet and a retreat from the hustle and bustle. Doesn't take long and wouldn't travel to do it. We happened to be in the area. Interesting information boards along the way.
