Neighborhood: Coogee
Very accessible by public transport, Coogee is the smaller, friendlier, more intimate version of Bondi Beach. Coogee is the only beach in the Eastern suburbs that does not have big waves, making it an excellent family beach. The Coogee Bay Hotel, located right across the beach, has one of the biggest beer gardens in Australia and plenty of entertainment every night of the week. Be on the lookout for celebrity footballers! A little further south is Wylie’s Baths, offering sweeping 180 degree views over the Pacific Ocean, and it is perfect for a swim or a few laps. Plenty of dining choices surround the beach, including the famous fish and chips.

I have enjoyed myself here today and the finer burst of weather guaranteed me a good time wandering around today. The grass was so green and verdant given all the recent rain in Sydney!

Lovely area to view sunrise or any time of day. Beautiful rugged coastline. The Coogee - Bondi walk begins or concludes here. Great views, reflective memorials and nice shady spots to sit and read! Be ready to take some photos. An easy walk from Coogee Beach

This is pleasant, expansive and elevated park at the northern end of Coogee Beach. If you are doing the Bondi-Coogee thing you walk straight through it. The park offers expanses of lawn (there is also good shade), public amenities and fine views of Coogee, Wedding Cake Island, and the beautifully blue Pacific Ocean. It is also close to Coogee's many cafes. Importantly, the park includes a couple of memorials to the Australian victims of the 2002 Bali bombings. There is a separate memorial to the six members of the local rugby league side, the Coogee Dolphins, who also perished on that day. Everything is very tastefully done. Nearby there is another pilgrimage site, a bit more ragtag, consisting of religious pictures and icons stuck to the fence. It is said a miraculous vision of the Virgin Mary appeared here some years back.

Walking along Coogee Beach, a low wooded, bushy hill rises above the beach. This rise is Dunningham Park. Just steps from the white sandy ocean shore, this hill offers beautiful views, shady benches under the trees, and sunny grassy areas for those looking to sunbathe or picnic. At the top of the hillock stands a monument to the victims of the Bali bombing. They are also remembered inside a building that looks like a gate with the inscription BATH, as well by the Dolphins Point, that was named in the memory of six Coogee Dolphins A Grade Amateur Rugby League players who were among those tragically killed in Kuta, Bali, the 12th October 2002.
After the “BATH” a staircase leading to the Giles Baths, if you want some more fun after the beach.
Also, there is an unofficial shrine, full of flowers, marking the place, where on a hot day, the Virgin Mary couldn’t resist Coogee's cooling waves and came here to swim.
The park offers various entertainment, and since only a few steps away from the beach and public transport, it is suitable and accessible for every age.

You can see this spot from Coogee beach so it’s just a short walk from the end at the beach. So gorgeous with the rocks and the sea splashing in on the rocks. I real nice spot for taking great pictures as well as having a swim.

Pleasant walk with family along this rugged Coastline. Take a drink, hat and some sun cream even when it’s overcast it can catch you out.

A walk to Clovelly through this reserve and along the coastal walk is grand even on a hot day marred by smoke haze from the NSW bushfires. Do visit the two memorials to those killed in what is known as the Bali Bombing. They are simple yet poignant. Look down too on to the Giles Rock Baths and the teenagers that jump off the rocks into the pool below. Then keep in walking. They say you can get to Bondi.

Pleasant sort of headland park until the grass dies back.
There are various parts to the Bali memorial.
Also an unofficial Virgin Mary shrine.
