Palm Cove is a little gem which is obvious as you proceed down the main street next to the beach. A tree covered promenade next to the beach on one side and hotels and eateries on the other with parking next to the jetty on...More

Since our arrival to Palm Cove it has been windy. This is a lovely long stretch of beach suitable for walking or sun baking. Many people take their dogs for a walk here. The foreshore has several cafes and eateries.

Palm Cove Beach is a lovely beach near Cairns. The waves are low but the wind is good for kite surfing. The water is a bit muddy but clean. It has a nice view of Ellis Beach island.

It is a nice beach with excellent dining opportunities. But it comes at a higher price than other places.

Palm Cove - I wish we had booked our accommodation here instead of Cairns!! A smaller community that still has a few places to eat and shop. The beach itself - during our visit they still had the stinger nets in place, and the lifesavers...More

Second visit here and I love it. It is Noosa without the ego or the labels! Perfect mix of beach, restaurants, retail and pockets of forest walking. Great base to visit the reef and other great attractions FNQ has to offer.

One of the northern most beaches of Cairns city. Tourist esplanade with lots of restaurants and rental holiday units. Playground for kids and life savers on duty. Net for summer months when stingers in season. Long pier on northern end, great for fishing. Kayaks for...More

The crystal clear blue water, and a fantastic long sandy beach. There is a jetty for fishing off. I personally wouldn’t swim here because of crocs and stingers but most hotels have great pool areas in which to swim and play.

Kathleen, I think the response from Lou Charlie is perfect. The only thing I can add is don't be put off visiting Palm Cove because you can't swim in the ocean. It's a gorgeous spot with a variety of accommodation options... More

Palm Cove is generally quieter than most touristy destinations; I think it is a perfect place if you want to avoid overcrowding (unless of course they have an event on at the beach so check the local guide for upcoming... More
