Came to this river as part of a cruise from Darwin to Broome. The river is full of life, lots of bird life, plenty of crocodile, lots of tawny nurse shark. Great place for fishing. Awesome sunrise and sunset.

Take a helicopter trip over the falls and trek through the bush to get there, either way you will not regret this attraction. Beautiful people, beautiful scenery and beautiful wildlife.

We took the easy way - a helicopter ride from the beach - landed there from our boat - to the falls. Great views. We landed and walked for a land--based view of the falls and a paddle in the pool at the end of...More

So this is nearly 200 km of dirt driving from Drysdale, the last 90 km on an 'unoffical' road (check your insurance) at around 30 km/h. But the walk to the falls (from the campsite) is lovely and the views at the falls superb. You...More

The walk into Mitchell Falls was great, the swim lovely on a hot day and the view of the falls from the cliff top terrific but the highlight was a 45min helicopter flight from the top of the falls out to the coast and back....More

The roads were really terrible so on the rangers advice (as well as many others) we camped with our camper trailer at King Edward River campsite which was really beautiful and a lovely place to swim and relax. We did a long day trip up...More
