We were staying nearby and what a great way to start the day with a good full energy walk around the lake. It took us just over an hour, and we aren't the fittest people out there. Great views of different parts of the lake....More

This is a well maintained and wonderful track. Eight Km around Lake Hayes. It takes 1.20 to 2 hours depending on your speed. It is wonderful however to stop and "smell the roses" from time to time.

Great easy walk. We departed from pavilion but there are other good starting points. Path was covered with some water at some places as it had recently rained/snowed. My daughter with hiking shoes had no problem. My son with sneakers ended up with wet feet.

Stunning lake and mountain views - well worth a visit to walk around the lake if you have time. Would be amazing in summer! We stopped on our way to Arrowtown and then went back for a long walk later. So lovely.

This is a walk along well marked paths that circle Lake Hayes. It is easily accessible from the Queenstown Arrowtown road with a big parking area at the Arrowtown end (which also has toilets and picnic tables), and smaller parking areas a couple of spots...More

Visited on Monday 7th May. On our way back from Arrowtown to Queenstown we drove past Lake Hayes. What amazing views and there is a walking track around the Lake if you have time to do it.

Yes there are. There is one right next to Lake Hayes it has lovely views over the valley and a dining area. It’s called Amisfield Bistro and Cellar Door.
