Opened in December 2014 - Nelson's latest all-weather, world class tourist destination! Igniting enthusiasm with motorcycle aficionados, historians and lovers of fine art throughout New Zealand. The largest private collection of its kind in the southern hemisphere State of the art museum showcases one of the most comprehensive collections of around 300 classic and vintage motorcycles, sidecars and original works of art. For a limited time, the entrusted curator of the Britten motorcycle. Visitors can digitally explore the history of most bikes and the artwork through STQRY, an android and i-Phone application that allows the user to scan QR codes and “Read all about it" via smartphones or with the use of complimentary tablets.

If you are into motor bikes you must visit this museum over 100 older and some very rare bikes to look at all in working order great knowledgeable staff.

The museum was fantastic but Tom Sturgess the private owner of this collection has closed it because of a major cancer surgery what he had in 2015. I have my information from google.

It would have been the best collection of mostly restored (with many to concours standard) classic bikes in NZ. All the bikes were European or US with a few NZ ones with the most famous NZ bikes being Britten race bikes.

My husband loved his time drooling over all the motorbikes they had in the collection. He actually went back for a second visit and because they remembered him (probably cause of all the drooling) he got in free. The whole collection is owned by one...More

Some rare beauties. Loved spending time here. So sad to see that it is closing. So well set out, loved the oil catching under many of the old bikes.
