We came here with our 2yo and he absolutely loved it. There aren’t vast amounts of animals but there is plenty for the enjoyment of young children as well as a play area with an awesome sandpit, picnic area, trampoline and the usual climbing frames/slide etc.
If you buy goat/alpaca food, either get a couple of bags ($1 each) or be sure to save some for the later animals - we fed all of ours to the first goats, not realising there were more round the corner!
A nice morning out with young kids, I don’t think it would be very entertaining for older children or adults on their own as there just isn’t enough there.

I really liked that this place is sort of a zoo but also isnt because they are helping animals and trying to rehabilitate them so they do get released and go back to the wild.

I did however feel that alot of the enclosures were too small for some of the animals like the fish in particular i thought that the farm animal enclosures were huge where some of the other animals had less leg room.

Would be nice to be able to pat the rabbits but i understand that there are good reasons not to.

The goats were very boisterous but still cool hehe

The lemurs were crazy cool and some of the very small monkeys you had i had never seen in real life ae only in photos.

The entry free was fair priced and the animal food was fair priced too. Good having the signs around to say what ones you can and can't feed. But no sign near the goose and turkey enclosure but we didnt just incase.

Recommend not wearing ya best shoes because there is poo everywhere ahha!

We went on a tuesday and it was raining so very quiet.

I think the bathrooms could do with an upgrade but yea thats the only thing really.

Natureland Zoo is awesome place to visit while your in Nelson, its very reasonably priced and you can buy food to give the animals as you walk around. It’s very kid friendly as they love feeding the animals and there is a playground. Kids and adults will love this alike. A must do.

What an excellent little park and zoo. cheap for the family and we enjoyed a variety of interesting animals especially the baby Tuatara and the walk through Kea enclosure. Natureland breed for release NZ Native species and also support endangered species including the Meercats. The Keeper talks are very interesting. Bring your own picnic or enjoy lunch at the beach cafe across the road.

This animal park in Nelson is great for families. You can purchase food to feed various animals -- kids really loved this place! I was visiting from the US and wanted to see some of the native birds and was not disappointed. I got some great photos! Next visit, I hope to be able to see the feedings, but it wasn't happening during the time we were there. Ticket prices are inexpensive and is a great place to visit. It only requires a short amount of time as this is a small park, but it's near the sea, so lots of places within walking distance too.

Will layed out natureland zoo. Took 7yr granddaughter. She loved feeding the animals. Was fascinated with the monkeys and meerkats.
It was a shame the porcupine & pigs were asleep.
It was a hot day so I guess the heat was effecting them too just like us.
However we enjoyed our visit while on holiday.

Nature Land is awesome for the kids. Lots of animals for them to see and feed.
Playground, sandpit, trampoline etc.

Some of the enclosures were not open/under repair which was a shame. Less animals than I was expecting but still loved it.

Reasonable entry price which is nice when you're on holiday.

Super friendly staff.

This is a small zoo but it packs alot in. Good variety of species. Animals are enriched and well cared for with appropriate habitats. Conservation initiatives are on full display here and connect with the Abel Tasman National Park with breed for release of Kaka and Yellow crowned kakariki. Well done to all the staff.

What a lovely little animal park. My wife an I happily spent an hour and a half meandering through the park. Lots to see, can get hands on with many of the animals. The staff are truly amazing, they know their stuff, are super friendly, engaged and clearly care. Don’t be afraid to start talking to the staff, they’re wonderful.
If you don’t have coins to donate to their fundraising well, just ask to make an EFT-POS donation at the shop.
Loved it.
