The cathedral is very modern and stands proud above the centre of the town. The interior is light and airy, and very peaceful. We were impressed with the modern art hanging from the rafters, an ingenious interpretation of Stairway to Heaven.

Visited Cathedral located on a small hill on the edge of the central business area of Nelson. History of the church is well presented and the building itself is very impressive. Well worth a visit.
What a treat to be able to walk through the nave of this Cathedral. Lots of history and impressive architecture. Well worth doing while you're out and about looking at shops.
