Near the end of the Boat harbour rock wall is a monument we could see from our room at the Mantra. We were curious to see it at a closer range. We observed cars and walkers go there daily. So on our last day we drove there giving a gold coin donation. There is a narrow road leading to it or you can walk it, but is fair way.
The Statue of St Peter commemorates Fraser coast fishermen who have been lost or taken by the sea. So it is a tall statue looking sea wards in memory to those lost at sea. Enjoy the marina views in front of it, worth seeing as well. Look for the pelicans on the posts. We found it a poignant reminder of the dangers faced by fishermen particularly.
Worth the visit.

It was just an evening walk from our accommodation. It turned out to be more interesting, quite a long walk along a jetty with working fishing boats, shore birds in some unexplained ponds, and the statue facing the sea.
