Loved visiting this amazing cottage built on whale bone. Ann the curator was very knowledgeable and welcoming. Fantastic story board of the history of Kaikoura. Totally recommend snd you get to touch a 100 year old whale bone.

The day we were there was a free entry day so that was good, lots of history of the building and a lovely little garden.

We loved being able to step back into time and see how people lived during 'the olden days'. Seeing whale vertebrae be part of the house's foundations, was amazing!

Lovely warm welcome and introduction to the house history. Broader information freely provided about the local area including great tips for dining and other places to visit too. Such enthusiasm and knowledge is a wonderful asset in promoting Kaikoura. Go there!
