This is a very scenic walk along the Kaikoura Peninsula. You can expect to see lots of seals and seabirds, as well as great views.

Did this walk and was delighted with the views. Not a difficult walk but very rewarding. Took nearer to 4.5 hours return from the tourist information centre. Lots of great photo opportunities.

Great walk up for overview sights But can also walk along the elevated historic ocean floor to see seals and a variety of birds.

The walk along the top of the cliffs offers a lovely view but to capture much of the wildlife you need to do at sunset or sunrise as during the day the penguins and seals have mainly headed out to sea. Two things to note:...More

Great walk, plenty of parking toilets etc... quick 5 mins to the top or do the whole thing. Amazing views across the ocean and back towards Kaikoura. Didn't see any seals.

We walked out at land level then climbed the steps and returned on the cliffs - views were sensational! I was in flip flops and would have preferred trainers and we put the three year old in a carrying rucksack as she wouldn’t have made...More

We walked all along the peninsula along the cliffs and then down on the beach on the way back. It was busy as we were here on a weekend but we had a lovely walk in the sun. The only negative was seeing some people...More

Not sure about Ohau walkway, but quite possible after the earthquake. The place I started on the walkway was at the Port Kean viewpoint (there's a car park near there to drive up to so you can start the walk). I heard the... More

Hi, I think at this moment you cannot drive the coast road from Blendheim to Kaikoura. You need to drive inside the south Island and drive back to Kaikoura. The walk is free. It take about 3h, depend how far you walk... More
