An easy hours wander through early gold workings accessed via a tunnel, view the tail races, sluice faces and stone walls. Only 15 mins drive off the highway

Taking a slow drive through some of the back roads around Hokitika we stopped to do this short walk between Stafford & Goldsborough. A beautiful short walk of about 30 mins. At the very beginning of the walk you enter a long tunnel before coming...More

This is an enjoyable short walk through the old goldmining workings. It really gives you an idea of the hard work the oldtimers did chasing the yellow stuff.

So after spending all day wandering around Hokitika, looking at the local town itself and wading in the most blue water I've ever seen in my life, a local told us this would be a great place to experience the phenomena that are glow worms....More

we don't have kids, so from an adult's perspective this was just a 20minutes fan walk. If you are short on time, i say you skip this and head it to your next destination.

This is a great 20 minute walk which takes you through two tunnels and beautiful west coast rainforest. I hiked with my daughter in the front pack and even though it was raining slightly we had no issues.

This walk is easily accessible, interesting, great bush, mining remnants and you feel like you are remote whilst being only a short distance off the road.

Found this to be a very interesting walk. Was not very hard to do and the sounds of the bush were amazing.

Nice short walk and what made more enjoyable was the tunnels. One at start, one in the middle and one at the end. Nice track could be a bit different if it had rained the day before.
