The Pride of the Murray began life in 1924 as a barge. She has since been converted to a paddle wheeler best suited to functions and group bookings. The Pride claims a proud title: of the many boats originally built in Echuca, she along with the PS Pevensey and PS Adelaide, still operate from their home Port. All children have the opportunity to steer the paddlesteamer and receive a Free Skippers Certificate. Private Charters. The Pride of the Murray is great for group gatherings (it is the only boat with Air Conditioning!). Private charters offer very reasonable rates to then allow the dates, route, duration, meals and other services to be tailored to the groups preferences. For availability and a personalised quote, please see contact our booking office. The Pride of the Murray or the PS Canberra will operate each day for 1 hour cruises at 10:30am, 11:45am, 1:15pm and 2:30pm. Alternative schedules are run at very busy times as well as off-peak periods, please check with our office for the daily schedule. The Pride of the Murray is an excellent option for your next function or event. Its extensive viewing area, fully enclosed deck, large open areas and air-conditioning ensures a very comfortable cruise for intimate groups or large gatherings. Very very disappointed in the price we had to pay for a dismal baked dinner and a childish badly scripted slide show! $150 for 2 adults and a child. Dessert was just as poor! Then nothing more than a slideshow of history of Echuca. The...More

We went of lunch cruise and were underwhelmed with the lack of commentary. When the captain did give some it was very terse. The pie was good & there were gluten free options but we could get that in a nearby pub. On the positive...More

We went on a Sunday lunch cruise which was running as a “special” trip for Pride of the Murray as they had a group booking. The boat itself isn’t steam powered but that certainly didn’t bother us and on a day with a bit of...More

We enjoyed a pleasant afternoon cruise on the Pride of the Murray. It's loud, smelly and not the most comfortable ride but that was what it was like when it was a workhorse along the Murray River. Don't let this put you off. The trek...More

Paddlesteamers have paddles and a steam engine. The PotM has paddles and a diesel engine hidden out of sight - making it a paddlediesel. None of that steamy fun some may seek, just a way to propel the boat. The pretend funnel doesn't even continue...More
