I completed this in a single day easily. I got dropped off at Orbost and meandered back to Bairnsdale stopping off in Buchen for a pie of course. Brewery was shut but I can recommend stopping in there if open.

The good people who agitate for rail trails have achieved a lot by getting this trail up and running. It is about 95kms in length, although we rode about 104kms from Bairnsdale railway station to Tourist Info in Orbost. The signage is excellent all along...More

We walk there for couple times. The track is ok. Beautiful view of East Gippsland. Good for family activity.

Did the Bruthen to Lakes Enterance trail, lots of different terrain, the next day we did Bairnsdale to Bruthen and return after a great stop over at the Brewery

Only rode a small section of the 96km trail but it was well worth it. All sign posted, water stations, good track and scenic views along the way.
