Gorgeous country side with fabulous views. We stopped at a few wineries and did some wine tasting. It is a region worth exploring. We would definitely go back and explore some more.

We decided to drive through the Tamar Valley to view the countryside & to taste the wine & food on offer. It is an easy drive from Launceston, well sign-posted & well worth the day out. Would definitely recommend the day.

Spectacular views as you drive up the western side of the Tamar River with plenty of vineyards and places to see. Cross over the Batman Bridge for the trip back to Launceston with strawberries and apples to buy.

It's a beautiful valley, lots of sheep and if you you're going for a lazy Sunday drive than i recommend going. There are a lot of vineyards, but I find Tassie wines over rated and expensive so not my cup of tea.

They are quite close to each other. Cataract G is slightly closer to Hobart and would make a good stop before going to the Tamar valley.
