The Design Centre in Launceston is an interesting visit as it showcases many of Tasmania's talented designers in one location. The only downside is that it is quite expensive and in many cases we found the same items elsewhere considerably cheaper, so beware.

Here is a great display of hand crafted, locally made items from pieces out of wood, ceramics and textiles. If you are looking for quality locally made items then this is the place to visit.

The Design Centre is adjacent to City Park. It is well worth combining with a visit to the park. Exhibitions change on a regular basis.

This is a shop well worth looking at. Beautiful design wares handcrafted by local artisans. Lots of Tasmanian wood products available, and also hand crafted, exquisite jewellery.
