A beautifully maintained and interesting garden in the sinkhole. There are steps but they aren't too bad (be really careful when it's wet though). It's free just to wander around and spend a bit of 'down time'. Definitely worth a visit.

In the middle of town is an interesting sinkhole where there is a fun little walking track heading down into it. There is a light show in at night times which is really cool to watch and in wet weather it is glorious to watch...More

Umpherston Sinkhole is truly a gem of a place to visit. The steps down are a bit steep, but the effort is worth it. This is a free place to visit.

We often take the children here, one of the highlights is going down to see and feed the possums! We all love doing this, often we see baby possums and they love the fruit we take. The gardens down below are very scenic, and it's...More

We were the only people in the area at the time of our visit, so it was a very peaceful and quiet time, and we took our time to look at and take pictures of all we could. It is a short visit (max. 30-45mins)...More

Gorgeous and totally unexpected little wonder. Path was not really great for someone on a stick in the heavy rain but I think it would be truly magnificent in the dry.

It is wet, dull and beautiful today...who cares when you are in the garden of eden. What a special place, with pretty gardens, a waterfall and a bbq in a protected sinkhole. It's amazing.

Will have to return to see what this lovely place looks like in another season other than winter. Remarkable!

Must see Mount Gambier sight. More interesting than Blue Lake, wonderfully green and full of character. Really charming. A wonderful sight all year long.

You can go anytime as you just walk through a park to get there. At least I don't remember it being gated or fenced at all!

It is a long diversion from the GOR just for the sink hole. There is much more than it in Mt Gambier. Consider overnighting in Mt Gambier for other attractions too.
