A very well presented, compact and interesting museum. Friendly guides happy to answer your questions. Whilst it looks modest from the street, it is quite extensive and occupies a number of rooms with much information about the history of Port Macquarie. Right in the centre...More

Thanks Grant. We are pleased that you enjoyed your visit. Our building does look small from the outside, but comprises 14 rooms and galleries. We are proud of the work our team does in telling Port Macquarie's special stories.

I loved this place as a child and now my kids loved it too! Worth the small cover charge, very well preserved pieces and very knowledgable staff.

The museum is surprisingly big inside for such a small front. Packed full of antiques and local history. Well worth a visit on a rainy day.

Definitely worth visiting the museum. Lots of historical information about the people and the area, extensive collection of artefacts and photos, from convict times through to the 60s. Includes a list of convicts’ names. Time passed very quickly! Highly recommended.

Went here to kill time, wasn't thinking much of it. But glad I went now. Great to learn about history and look around at all the equipment, clothing, appliances etc in the 1900's. Make sure you bring your camera! Were greeted by very friendly staff,...More
