Check out the old parcels office. Excellent area for parking. Attention to detail shows that much time has been put in by the volunteers.

lovely quite very well kept old fashioned station, we had a day steam train ticket and got off here and sat for a while in the lovely warm sun and had a coffe & cake on the platform Very clean, very friendly staff

There were at least 2 steam engines, one called Oliver Cromwell, a diesel engine and a 1950s diesel train.

We often visit as we live close by and always enjoy a ride on the train with our 7 year old daughter. Gives them a great perspective on how life used to be like.

The station is mainly run by volunteers and has plenty of flowers around the platforms even in winter. The station has 2 cafe's one tradional railway and the other a recreation of a NAAFI canteen during the war. The platforms are adorned with old posters...More
