Even in rain our trip on the TSS Ernslaw to Walters Peak was delightful. The piano player on board played as the scenery slipped by. Once at our destination, we enjoyed a shearing and working dog demonstration followed by a gourmet bar b que lunch....More

We got this tour for our last night in Queenstown and we’re really glad that we did. Coming from a weeklong vacation trying out the different tours and outdoor activities that QTN has to offer, this tour is laidback enough to allow you to ‘cool...More

Nice trip over to the farm to watch a sheep get a haircut, and the border collies round up some sheep. There was quite a crowd the day we went, lots of unneeded pushing and rushing by some of the other passengers. Not the fault...More

It seemed a lot of money at first, but it was worth every penny! A lovely old boat, lovingly maintained and a charming way to travel. The whole trip was like stepping back in time. There was a wonderful buffet waiting for us at the...More

It wasn’t my first cruise on the Earnslaw but the last time was about 40 years ago so decided it was time for another trip up the lake - this time with my husband. Being almost lunchtime the cruise was pretty full with a lot...More

The boat itself is quite impressive given its vintage, but the atmosphere on board with the right crowd is great. After a few veins, the inhibitions drop and the rock star singing voices come out. Very good fun!

Four of us booked the cruise and BBQ lunch departing 12noon. The boat was busy but we could find seats and prime places to stand to look at the scenery. The sheep sheering demonstration was really fun and informative to see, as was the dogs...More

If you are looking for a leisurely (I.e., slow moving) cruise of the lake and a sheep shearing demonstration all in one, this is a good choice. The vessel is an old lake boat that seats probably 150 with a bar and food. Most are...More

We booked the evening trip on the Earnslaw with BBQ, sheep shearing and sheepdog demonstration. Great fun. The trip on the Earnslaw was relaxing, the BBQ really massive and well cooked (14 hour lamb!) and the sheep shearing entertaining. We had a great evening.

Overpriced cruise; it was interesting to look at the operation of a real steamship, but otherwise pretty lame. Could have done the same thing in a modern boat at half the price, but I suppose it is expensive to maintain a steamship in working order......More
