We took a family walk along the river bank and had a pleasant walk by the sandy and rocky banks of the river. Can see why its appealing and chosen for the Lord of the Rings movie.

From Arrow Town, we went on the Arrow Gorge Track, as far as Norman Smith Bridge (on the map, this was the Norman Spencer Bridge, which was a little confusing... unless we were reading the Mao wrongly, haha). It was about 1-hour return, and was...More

Only a few mins drive from Queenstown. lovely river walks and historical site from gold rush days. Close to the town which is very quaint. Try the pies from the bakery.

Super hike but be prepared to get your feet wet. We took the lower track and crossed the river a number of times. The weather was really hot so this was not a problem. great views, good history. Good hike for fit people.

Arrowtown seemed a little touristy when we first drove by, but glad we investigated further. Historical area and nice hikes along the river and nearby.
