Really liked seeing the dedication to Burt Munro, being a motorcyclist and having a “need for speed” it was a goal to see this whilst in New Zealand. Very clean and tidy park and Burt is a legend.

The area surrounding this statue is beautifully done. It's great to see that such an important milestone in history has been commemorated.

Burt Munro is a Invercargill hero and what he achieved is well documented in Invercargill to the extent they hold a festival in his honour once year which attracts motorcyclists from around the world.

Hardly worth going here just to see the statue. If you are in the area then go into the nearby museum where you can read about Burt and what he did and achived. Then walk out and along the road past this monument.
