Incredible pub with one of the largest selections of English (others too) draft beers of any pub in NZ I know of. First you take in the incredible interior and especially the incredible attention to detail on the ceiling restoration. Second try and choose from...More

As always a great selection of ales to choose from. I had the Tally Ho-Ho-Ho dark ale to start with (7.9%) an excellent drop. Followed by a Salted Caramel ale and that was very nice. We also ordered the $25 platter to share between four...More

We had an English ale and pork scratchings and peanuts here. It’s a lovely old pub. Nice experience.

An Englishman abroad. Unrealistically, after a good review by a cricket commentator, hoped for a proper hand pulled real ale a long way from home. No proper handpumps seen, just the little squirt tap dispensers. OK, but at six pound a pint, slightly eye watering,...More

Went for a drink in this pub with friends. My partner suggested to one of the bar staff that the toilets needed some attention as they weren’t very clean. 5 minutes later the owner came over and started shouting and acting very aggressively. Said she...More

Stopped here for a drink after a long drive round the Caitlins. It’s been refurbished and restored to an amazing degree. Barman was knowledgable and advised on the local brews.

Stopped in after work. Had to wait ages as the guy behind the bar was talking to friends. He barely acknowledged our group. There are better places in Dunedin

Best pint I have had in NZ, nice selection of British offerings, including some strong hoppy numbers (to which I am partial). Nice building and location. The most pubby pub I have been in yet; has made me realise most NZ pubs are actually bars.

This is a lovely pub that offers a good variety of beer but it's not very inviting on a cold day to get a drink. The pub was very cold and unwelcoming would have stayed longer had it been warmer.
