As the title implies it took us 3 half days to complete. Great exhibits, heaps for the kids to do and enough to keep the adults entertained as well. Particularly enjoyed the Pacific exhibits and swords from around the world. Pros: Heaps to see, touch...More

This is my first visit to Dunedin. Pleasantly surprised to find this museum. This is definately a place that I would like to bring my family back to. The ladies at the front desk were friendly and welcoming. It is well set out but the...More

This is a free museum. This museum focuses on natural history. I learned a lot about flora and fauna that thrived in NZ long time ago. There are a lot of fossils and bones.

My family (2 adults, 2 kids aged 10) visited here. Could have spent quite a while here but ran out of time. Recommend the butterfly house and be prepared to strip down as it is very hot, something like 27 degrees! There are cubby holes...More

We really only wanted to visit the butterfly garden and perhaps the planaterium, but needed to pay for the whole science area. That was ok, but found we needed another ticket for the planaterium too. It cost $29 for an adult and pensioner, and to...More

Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review! We do offer a package deal for these attractions that would've worked out at $38 total, but this does need to be purchased upon first entry - do ask our info desk staff about that...More

Otago museum was great, the level of detail on the subjects combined with the high volume of items and artefacts on display made it a truly fab experience. When we visited there were exhibitions on Sir Edmund Hilary, with items from his expeditions, animals of...More

We went to the Otago Museum and were not let down! Enough galleries to last you most of an afternoon and passionate staff. It was surprisingly quiet, but it was a weekday. The real highlight was the butterfly room, and to see the recently hatched...More

Thanks for your review - we think the First Flight in the Tropical Forest is pretty special too!

The museum is free to enter. The staff at the information desk was excellent. She was an old lady who was just so helpful in everything. The museum itself is great. Some places do need additional lighting. Some places were overly lit.
