A very well built memorial on the banks of the Avon and in the Cashel St pedestrian shopping precinct.

We were there on the weekend prior to Remembrance Day, and it was a poignant reminder of the heroes around the world who fought for our freedoms 100 years ago.

This is another must see stop when walking around Christchurch. The beautiful arch wonderfully reminds people of the sacrifice of people who gave their lives to give us the freedom that we often take for granted today.

This war memorial was damaged in the 2011 earthquake. It has been restored and now is looking good. It is a fitting memorial to remember those who sacrificed their lives for us. A recent addition is the Maori woven mat "Remembering Our Fallen in Battle".

A great photo op and an iconic memorial to those who fought for New Zealand. Easy to fit in while on the tram or checking out other attractions in the city centre.

This seems to be one of those locations where everyone takes photos of themselves. So why don’t you too? Central location en route to wandering around the city centre, so worth a quick look on your way somewhere else.

This is very picturesque. I am not a huge fan of military memorials, but this one is nicely done, and covers many conflicts.
