It was nice to visit the Bridge of Remembrance since it was being renovated the last time I was in Christchurch. The bridge is a great reminder to all of us to those that lived and died for our freedom. Thank you for the remembrance.

It was good to see this special monument had survived. What a lovely landmark. In what will be a modern city old things will be valued

The bridge of remembrance is a must visit place and it's a popular place for visitors. Next to it are the steps where children like to play.

Most New Zealand towns have substantial tributes to servicemen and women. This is no exception an dprovides a great entrance to the city centre.

Well located in the heart of the city, and all the more poignant as the buildings nearby - almost all rebuilt since the 2011 earthquake - are completed and are therefore forming a vibrant part of the city.

Not sure what to say here but this is a good place to stand and reflect on life and how lucky we are.

This memorial is still accessible during the construction to rebuild the city after the earthquake. Some buildings still damaged.

While walking along the river it's worth a stop to read all about the reason for the monument and the other information there.

Very touching place to visit, and only about 200m away is the Wall of Remembrance, on which is mentioned all 185 names of the those lost in the earthquake of 2011.

A pretty little bridge over the Avon river. This bridge remembers the casualties of the World Wars, but in the meantime CHCH has much more to remember, so I would not be surprised if that came to be included in this monument as well.
