Just north of Cathedral Square is Victoria Square, recently refurbished but looking pretty much like it always did, if you ask me. There are several interesting monuments housed in the Square; a statue of Captain James Cook, a Pou gifted to the city by Nga...More

Victoria Square is still under restoration so hardly worth a visit unless you're passing. It'll be so long before sites like this will be open again.

Victoria square is entirely blocked off due to restoration works. You can see it’s of it from the tram but that’s it. They anticipate it will be open again at the end of March 18.

Victoria Square is a small park on the border of the Avon river. It's good for a stroll along the river. However I prefer to walk along Oxford Tce to a place called The Strip.

This was the original market square for the first settlers. It now boasts statues, a blend of Maori and European (including the trees along the river reputed to be from Napoleon's garden on St. Helena. If the quakes haven't killed it, get a gander at...More

Peaceful and uncrowded, the current Victoria Square shows on the map as a green non-square park filled with many circles. It is worthy of a stroll, especially if you are walking to or from Victoria Street. While there are statues of Captain Cook and Queen...More
