Lots of quirky restaurants and bars. Try the Porthole. A bar in a shipping container. Busy port and a new marina. Take the ferry to Diamond Hbr and back.

Visited on Wednesday 23rd May. We like the feel of Lyttelton with its amazing views of the harbour and port area. Just a pity so much was destroyed in the earthquake and yet to be rebuilt.

Bus from Christchurch cheap to get you across to Lyttleton, small busy little place, with an awesome bakery, so I'm told. Bakery sells out quite fast with delicious foods and then closes for the day. A couple of nice looking pubs if you have the...More

We went there about four times and I love the feel of the place. Easiest way of reviewing is to list what I like: General harbour views, particularly at sunset and night. Variety of buildings as you drive round the town. Fishermans Wharf is a...More

So this was accessible by the bus line, which I highly recommend by the way, and I enjoyed seeing it, but it was a bit more industrial than anticipated. There are a couple of streets that are fun shopping. It was rainy and kind of...More
