This was full of unexpected surprises. I wish we could have had more time there. Reasonably priced for all that was on offer. It covers a large area so wear comfy shoes. Very small children would get bored as it is so spread out. The...More

We went on 2 January which is a public holiday so it was very quiet and some areas did not have any staff manning them. That was OK as there was still a bit to look at. We enjoyed our time in the Train exhibit...More

I can not understand why more is not said about this place. It was a definite high light of our trip and if the opportunity arises I wouldn't hesitate to come back!

Went a for a couple of hours with the toddler. I think I enjoyed it more. Unfortunately most of the displays were shut, but peering in through windows was great.

Ferrymead was much more vibrant and happening back in the 80's. Even though we went on an event day, there was little happening and was disappointing. Won't be back.

Lots of olde world charm in this place with the usual historic buildings and vehicles - school house, bakery, printery, theatres, post office and telephone exchange. Don't miss the Hall of Flame with its extensive display of fire appliances, including one for the children with...More

We took the grandkids here. They loved it all. They were able to try things out and ride the mini fire engine complete with kids fire outfits. The steam train was running which was a highlight. Also the old movie theatre was operating. The school...More

Really enjoyed it here, there was so much to see and do. Would definitely recommend it to families, however a lot of it is outdoors, so not ideal for a rainy day!
