We had a good time looking through the museum. I loved the Christchurch street the most my kids liked the mummy! Friendly staff and decent cafe too.

We spent about 2hrs going through this museum..It’s free.. you give a donation if you want. There is so much to see, NZ history.. wartime history.. costumes over the time.. Antarctica section.. well worth a visit when In Christchurch 😁

This is a good place to go with a broken leg -- free wheelchair that they let you take out to the car, and good ramp access inside.

great entertainment for kids and adults, interesting galleries, a small cave, a feel of Antarctica, all for free. There is also a kids indoor play area.

Wife and I spent a couple of hours meandering through and discovered parts we didn't know about. Plenty of people to give you help and advise if needed. Well worth a re visit.
