Arty Bees Books is a family-run, independent bookstore nestled in the heart of Wellington City, Aotearoa, New Zealand. Arty Bees is the city's largest retailer of pre-loved, new and rare books. On its shelves sit over 90,000 titles ranging from the obvious to the outright bizarre with a specialized interest in the areas of Science Fiction and Fantasy, New Zealand Fiction and Non-Fiction, and the Rare and Antiquarian. "As a business whose core purpose is to recycle pre-loved items, we know that we are not just filling up the world with more consumer junk. Books have a life of their own that we think transcends the clutter of the modern lifestyle."

Probably hasn't has a re-fit since it opened and all the better for it! Vast range of books packed into floor to ceiling shelves with friendly and helpful staff on hand. One of the finest independent bookstores I've visited and centrally located too.

It is rare to find good bookstores these days. Surprisingly Wellington has a few. Arty Bees is fabulous. Large and diverse selection, old and new, reasonably priced. Could have spent hours in there. Staff were super friendly and knowledgeable too. Thank you!
