This is an iconic sight on the side of Mount Victoria. I’ve always wanted to see it. We went on a Saturday afternoon tour. Sadly it is a bit run down and the gardens could do with some work. The chapel is nice. I’m pleased...More

We visited this church and monastery as part of the 'Wellington City Heritage Week' open day program. We attended guided tour for about half hour and also walked around the place leisurely. We also watched the video about the history and background of this place....More

What a view this place has half way up the mountain overlooking the harbor. The church and monastery are not that attractive however but worth a walk and a look if for no other reason but the views. Sadly it has fences around most of...More

Its a nice place to browse through on days when visitation is allowed. The inmates do give a detailed tour. Its free. The church is beautiful. The whole place overlooks the bay and its beautiful on a sunny day.

This is a very well known and historic Church of Wellington. Specially if you are going towards Mount Victoria you can stop by and have a look at its beautiful architecture.

Although I am not strictly a 'visitor', I see from comments already lodged about this beautiful building that there is some uncertainty as to whether one can go inside. Within the last few days there has been an article in the local press which suggests...More

From the harbour side, this structure stands out. Given that churches in the old days always picked the best spot on a hill, just assumed it was a church. My wife thought it was a monastery so it turns out we were both right. Saw...More
