Oriental Bay provides great views over the harbor and the CBD as well as providing some good beaches and marina's and some interesting houses that remind you of San Francisco.

We walked from Cuba street to Oriental Bay which was a gorgeous walk in the sunshine. There were people swimming from the beach out to a diving platform. The whole scene was stunning.

Lovely clean beach, good for people watching along the walkway. Public bathrooms, coffee shops and restaurants. Well lit at night for walking. Large trees have lights strung up in them.

This is a pleasant stroll from the CBD with lots a groovy cafes along the way. For the more adventerous you could do a loop by walking up Mt Victoria. (you need to be fit / agile for this).

Spend a hour walking around the Parade at Oriental Bay and enjoy the many little Restaurants on the waterfront. Plus you have a wonderful Museum as well and good for Children.
