Very special place. Had the chance to get there on a nice sunny afternoon with light winds and it was fantastic. One scenic location after another. Didn't need to walk far from the beach to get to real stunning ridges. Will come back!
About 30min scenic drive from Wellington CBD will get you to a typical NZ stoney black sand beach, the highlight is a walking track around the cove with magnificent views.
Take bush walking foot wear and a bottle of water, don't forget your camera.
