This is a beautiful spot, it can be damned windy, and you'll want to ensure you wear good durable footwear. Take water.

A great place to take people if you are looking for somewhere free and iconic to Wellington/NZ. Just a beautiful natural view.

Well worth the hour & a half walk out (very, very windy day & got wind, sand & pebble blasted from all angles). Take a snack & water, & be prepared for any kind of weather. Was lucky enough to see 4-5 seals basking on...More

This is a beautiful place to visit, whether you just want to park up to watch the waves or undertake a walk around the bays to red rocks. The only thing that lets it down is all the freedom campers who do not clean up...More

Was fortunate to have fantastic weather on the day (you can't beat Wellington on a good day!). Nothing like looking out and seeing a few seals sitting on rugged rocky outcrops with beautiful blue seas surrounding and snow covered alps in the background. Only downside...More

WOW- we had a cold but sunny winters day. The walk probably took us an hour each way at a steady pace, but stopping for photos- you need to go past the actual red rocks until you see a large 'GAP' in the rocks but...More
